Akash Chetwani Bio

Akash Chetwani, CFA

Senior Partner at IRAA Global, heading the firm's advisory practice across risk and regulatory advisory, cross-border tax and structuring, and financial advisory and capital markets.

Akash Chetwani
Leadership profile

Big 4 discipline applied to the cross-border decisions that matter most - for clients who need audit, tax, and structuring handled as one conversation rather than three.

Current Focus

At IRAA Global, Akash heads the advisory practice across three verticals.

On risk and regulatory, he advises financial institutions across the GCC on model risk, validation, and AI governance.

On cross-border tax and structuring, he works with UAE-based founders, family businesses, and NRI professionals on multi-jurisdiction structuring and private client work across the UAE-India corridor.

On financial advisory and capital markets, he supports clients with valuations and CFO-as-a-service mandates, and through IRAA Capital, gives UAE residents access to Indian mutual funds through the correct structure from day one.

Overview

Akash heads IRAA Global's advisory practice across three verticals: risk and regulatory advisory for financial institutions, cross-border tax and structuring, and financial advisory and capital markets. He also leads IRAA Capital, the firm's Indian mutual fund distribution arm for UAE residents.

Professional Background

Before joining IRAA Global, Akash spent more than a decade at KPMG and Deloitte across Dubai, London, and India, working with central banks, large financial institutions, and corporates on risk, regulatory, and capital matters.

His work included engagements with the Central Bank of the UAE on the M-Bill market maker assessment framework, the Reserve Bank of India on its risk-based supervision framework, IRB capital model development under Basel 3.1 at Lloyds Banking Group in the UK, and Model Management Standard gap assessments at leading banks across the Middle East.

That background shapes how he approaches client work today - Big 4 technical discipline combined with the commercial judgement required when clients need advice that actually gets implemented.
